Blue Lightning (USA, Europe)
Blue Lightning is an action game developed by Atari Games and released for the Atari Lynx handheld game console in 1992. It was a launch title for the system in both the USA and Europe. The game features fast-paced gameplay with players controlling a small spacecraft that must navigate various levels while shooting enemies. Blue Lightning was notable for its use of Mode 7 graphics, a technique that simulates rotation and scaling, which allowed for a pseudo-3D effect in a limited handheld system. While not a commercial success compared to some other Lynx titles, it holds a place among early Lynx titles which showcased some of the system's graphical capabilities.
